Is long hair a turn off on a girl?

My hair comes down to my hips and it's in good condition, but everyone always says "You have such long hair, why not cut it and donate it?" - Meanwhile their own hair looks like crap. What is the problem with having long hair? If I am happy, I don't care about what other people think. So many people have said this over the years. When I worked in one office these three girls made it their mission to get me to cut my hair cause they all had pixie cuts and thought it was the best thing invented. I asked this one guy out and he rejected me and then afterwards he said he liked girls with shoulder length hair. He's 30!
