If a married person has an affair with a single person, are both equally morally culpable?

Both actually, however you have to factor in any convincing lies that the "spouse" may have told the "mistress". Maybe not in this case, but certainly in others there have been instances whereby the married person has convincingly lied to the other person by claiming such things as my marriage is over, we only stay together for the children etc etc etc...
